Our MRI system is currently the only commercially
available, FDA-cleared MRI unit dedicated to breast imaging.
It doesn’t replace mammography, but rather, provides
additional information for the detection and characterization
of breast disease. The scanner is specifically designed
to efficiently and effectively image both breasts simultaneously
while also providing a comprehensive view of the axillary
lymph nodes and chest wall in a single scan. No compression
of the breasts is required. |
Our Dedicated Breast MRI can provide valuable
information to:
Characterize lesions found through other breast imaging
modalities, determine extent of biopsy-proven breast cancer,
detect cancer not seen with mammography or ultrasound, monitor
cancer therapy such as chemotherapy or radiation, evaluate
patients with positive surgical margins for residual cancer,
screen for breast cancer in high-risk patients, prove or
exclude implant rupture.
We also perform MRI guided breast biopsies. » CLICK

Because of special safety concerns related to MRI (Magnetic
Resonance Imaging) and the contrast agents utilized, not
all patients are candidates for this type of imaging. You
will be asked about your medical history (ie: history of
kidney disease, transplants, and surgeries) as well as about
any metallic implants, tattoos, or foreign objects within
your body before we can schedule your appointment. We will
also ask you to fill out a medical history questionnaire
specific to your MRI exam on the day of your appointment.
You may also choose to fill out this form and bring it with
you to your appointment by clicking below.
